Parents' Page

This page is dedicated to the parents of the debaters of the Jersey Urban Debate League - JUDL. First and foremost, thank you for allowing your children to participate in this activity. So much can be learned from competitve extra-curriculum programs. But for much too long that has only been sports. Debate offers your kids the opportunity to compete using their intellectual skills, while still learning the great life lessons of sportsmanship, preparation and self confidence. Even more, debate teaches them skills that will be useful when applying for college, getting a job or competing for a promotion. Debating forces you to think on your feet, speak in front of an audience and convey messages. The lives of your children will be forever changed for the good when they decide to debate. Their future improves, and so do ours.

I'd like to welcome ALL the parents to attend our tournaments. If you can't be there for the entire day, please attend the awards ceremony that is held at the end of every tournament. Most JUDL tournaments have their award ceremony starting around 4:30. We love to see parents at the tournaments, and you can help out too. If you need any information on a particular tournament, please go to the tournament schedule and results page. Here you will find a listing of all the tournaments and their cooresponding detail page. If you click on the tournament, you will find all the information you need to arrive at the tournament. If any information is not available, please contact Brent Farrand for help. You can also submit your questions right here on JUDL.ORG.

Please click on some of the links on the left for additional information on debate and the JUDL. Thank you again.
