HOW A DEBATE IS WON:
Use the rebuttals to draw a balance
sheet for the judge. The affirmative wins if the judge is convinced
the new policy would make the world a better place. The negative
wins if the judge is convinced the world would be better off staying
with the old policy. The judge decides on the basis of the balance
of arguments.
Not all arguments are born equal.
You can lose some arguments and still win the debate. Tell the judge
in rebuttals why the arguments you have won OUTWEIGH the arguments
our opponent has won.
